She bowed out of hosting The Great British Bake Off after it’s move to Channel 4. And now Sue Perkin’s TV career has suffered another blow. Sky 1 has announced that it’s axing her kids game show The Big Spell after just one series.
A source said: “It just didn’t work out, sadly.
“The ratings weren’t amazing and while everyone involved thought the show was decent enough, they felt it was best to leave it as it is.
“Sue is in talks with Sky about other projects — particularly on the comedy and entertainment front.”
While there’s disappointment at the 160,000 viewers that tuned into the series’s final episode, the good news is that Sue will be back on our screens very soon. The 47-year-old has been announced as the host of this year’s TV BAFTA Awards. The star studded event takes place on Sunday May 14th.
We think she’ll do a fab job!
