Helen Fielding, author of Bridget Jones and Bridget Jones: The Voice of Reason, has confirmed her third book entitled Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy will be released later this year.
Bridget burst onto our screens in 2001, with tales of ‘meglomaniacs, workaholics, commitment phobes and perverts’. And now, even 12 years on women are still excited by the prospect of her vodka swilling, ice cream eating return!
American actress Renee Zellweger is set to reprise her role as the hapless singleton (we wonder if she’ll be gaining weight again?) And her love triangle will make a welcome comeback – we love Hugh Grant and Colin Firth.
Though don’t go buying the popcorn just yet. Working Title head Eric Fellner has said that a third film will not necessarily be made, explaining: “We’ll only do it if we can crack it creatively, so maybe we will, maybe we won’t.”
Arrrgh! Watch this space….
