What do you think is the best Christmas movie of all time? 

Your favourite warm, snuggly socks are on. The popcorn is gently popping away in the microwave. Maybe the fire is lit, and you can hear the gentle patter of the rain outside on your windows. It’s the perfect time to settle down in front of a movie – but what would you choose to get you in the festive spirit?


According to research conducted by Roku Inc., the perfect time to start watching Christmas movies is December 1st. Any earlier is deemed too soon. 

So, when we do finally start flicking on those festive films, what do we watch? Well, apparently the UK’s favourite Christmas film is Home Alone. The 1990 home invasion comedy has become iconic as Macaulay Culkin staged scream.


The magical Miracle on 34th Street, which features Matilda’s Mara Wilson as skeptical six-year-old Susan Walker, comes in at a close second for best Christmas movie of all time.


Then, every dad’s favourite, Die Hard, comes in third. Finally, global smash hit Frozen only comes in at a surprising ninth place.
