Everyone at work raved about Quidco, so I decided I would give it a go.

Stuart and I opened an account together, which means we can check what we are paying for household expenses. It was so easy – you just sign up for free on the Quidco website. We first used it for pet insurance. Annual insurance is about £70, but we got £30 cashback going through Quidco. We’ve made more back every year.

In 2012, we made £281, which takes our total so far to an impressive £686.Insurance payments are where we make the most money. You search on the Quidco website for the cheapest provider on house, car and pet policies, and then it directs you to the company website to make your purchase.

Afterwards, you will receive a message from Quidco telling you how much cashback you made and it will be paid into your bank account. I have a Quidco app on my smart phone, and I can make 10p or 20p when I check in to a high street shop. I also have the account linked to my store credit cards, so I get money when I buy something instore at, say, Debenhams.

At the moment, we need a new fridge freezer, so we’re shopping around to find the best deal online, and then we’ll buy it by going through Quidco. Vouchers are a handy feature, too. There was recently a voucher for 10 per cent off at Currys, which means we’d get a discount and cashback. I’ve also used it with smaller purchases – we made money when buying our 11-month-old daughter Emelia’s car seat, and I’ve just found a discount on Mother’s Day flowers, too. With Quidco on my smart phone, through my store cards and online, it’s always in easy reach. I know we’ll keep using Quidco more and more!
