The beehive is set to be the updo of next season. As Matthew Curtis, TRESemme UK Lead Stylist says, ‘Following on from the 60s trends that have been prominent throughout spring/summer, this look can be worn as chic and elegant or more dishevelled to give a youthful look.’

Here’s how to get the look.

Step 1. Apply TRESemme Texture Style Devine Definition Spray, £5.50, though the hair to create a texture you can easily work with, then add in your desired parting.

Step 2. Take a section at the crown and backcomb throughout, working forwards towards the face.

Step 3. Smooth over with a soft bristle brush combing lightly so you don’t ruin the backcombing.

Step 4. Grip hair in a pony at the back of the head and lift the areas you feel need a bit more height. Secure in a ponytail and just twist the lengths of hair around the base of the ponytail and pin to create a loose chignon.

Step 5. Loosen some hair around the face then spritz with TRESemme Freeze Hold Hairspray, £4.69.
