We love a textured, messy up-do for a laid back look that can take you easily from day to night – just like Julia Roberts! The best bit is that this easy ‘do is quick to achieve. Messy, laidback hairstyles are best achieved on hair that hasn’t been freshly washed – so this is perfect if you are short on time.
Here, Kerry Capewell, hair expert from Naturtint, shows us how…
- Gently backbrush hair at the crown to achieve height and to create a good base to pin the rest of your hair to.
- Pull your hair into a loose ponytail at the nape of the neck – don’t worry about being neat or getting your ponytail perfectly centre. If you have a fringe or side parting, pull out any loose sections of hair from the ponytail to frame the face and soften the style.
- Take small sections of the loose ponytail and wrap around your fingers and then pin around and above the ponytail using grips – let the ends fall loosely.
- Repeat until all the ponytail has been pinned and finish with a light misting of hairspray.
