We’ve all heard of ombre hair, the dip dye craze that saw celebs rocking extreme roots.
But now there’s a new hair trend emerging – splashlights.
Pionerred in New York by celeb colourist Aura Friedman, the technique is to create a horizontal streak of bleach through the central part of the hair to create a ‘halo’ effect. The bleach is applied to the outer layers first, then worked through to the top.
This isn’t a style you can just pop into the hairdressers for though – it takes around nine hours to get the look.
The colourist has worked with stars such as Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lawrence and Sophie Dahl, so is no stranger to the fashion spotlight.
In fact, it’s thought by many that she was responsible for bringing the ombre trend to the forefront of the catwalk after bleaching singer MIA’s ends.
Will you be trying out this bold new hair trend? Let us know what you think!
