Q: I keep getting eye infections and my optician says it is because I am not using my contact lenses properly. Have you any tips?’
A: I wear lenses which I find are very useful, but you do need to take extra care of your eyes.
Firstly, always wash, rinse and dry your hands before touching your lenses. Have regular check-ups with your optician and never use your lenses more than the recommended time limit.
Don’t use tap water to rinse lenses or wear lenses swimming without goggles. Never re-use cleaning solution or have a dirty storage case.
If your eyes become painful, red or if your vision changes always see your optician or GP straight away – don’t ignore it!
