As Joan sets to turn 83, we look back at her most fabulous moments from Dynasty to high profile affairs- below are the reasons we love Dame Joan Collins!

1 – When Joan wants a pay rise she gets one!

In 1985 Joan refused to turn up for work on Dynasty until they gave her a pay rise! They had to write her out of the first episode while it was sorted. Brilliant!

2 – She is picky with her men!

Rumour has it sassy Joan Collins turned down the likes of Dean Martin and Robert F. Kennedy! She even turned down the opportunity to have dinner with Frank Sinatra, despite him offering to send his plane to collect her!

3 – But she’s had her fair share of fun over the years…

She may turn down some A-listers but she’s also had some high profile flings too! Think Dennis Hooper, Warren Beatty, Sydney Chaplin and more!

4 – Age is just a number for Joan

Not one to be content with an older man Joan is currently married to 5th husband Percy Gibson who is 32 years her junior.

5 – She doesn’t care what anyone thinks

Her husband Percy is actually two years younger than her daughter and the same age as her son Alexander! Joan has had to grow a thick skin over the years and nothing gets her down.

6 – She’s got amazing friends

Well when you’re Joan Collins it’s only natural that your bestie is Dame Shirley Bassey, right?! She even sang at her wedding to Percy. BFF’s for sure!

7 – and she’s got a rather famous goddaughter too

We would expect nothing less! We’re sure Joan could teach a thing or two to her famous model goddaughter Cara Delevingne when it comes to fashion!

8 – She doesn’t travel light

And why should she? She’s Joan Collins for goodness sake!

9 – She isn’t afraid to bare some skin

Even in her 70s Joan looked bloomin’ fabulous in a swimsuit (with red lipstick of course!). Jealous? Us? Never!

10 – Joan always, and we mean ALWAYS looks fabulous

Stylish? Oh yeah! Joan knows a thing or two about how to work it on the red carpet. Poses, gowns, shoes – Joan’s always looks amazing.

11 – Joan doesn’t like to be called Grandma, ok!

And we can’t blame her! Joan isn’t ‘granny’ apparently her grandkids call her ‘DoDo’ instead!
