They say planning for a wedding is one of the top 10 most stressful life events, so imagine the angst when your guest list pushes past the 1,000 mark?
If you were thinking that things could get a little hairy with a wedding party of that size, then you’d be right. Because the outrageous wedding in question took place in front of scores of fur-clad guests… and not a single one of them was human!
Canadian couple – and animal lovers – Dominic Husson and Louise Véronneau were so keen to create the purrfect ambience on their Big Day that decided to say their vows in front of an audience of cats. 1,100 of them.
It’s not unusual for cat lovers to incorporate their beloved pet into their day. Past weddings have seen four-legged friends take on the role of cuddly ring bearer…
Or quirky cake topper…
But this wedding takes things to whole new animal-loving heights!
The couple’s unusual guest list all started with Louise’s visit to Cat House on the Kings, a no-kill, no-cage cat sanctuary in California, sanctuary back in 2012. She loved her time there so much that she vowed to return one day.
And luckily for Louise her husband-to-be shared her passion for animals.
‘We are both animal lovers,’ Dominic told NBC News. ‘It shows she’s a great person, and that’s why I wanted to marry her.’
Dominic popped the question and when the couple started exploring wedding venue options, Cat House on the Kings was the natural choice.
“We looked hard at our bucket-list-must-do-before-you-die stuff and devised a wild and fuzzy plan for our big day,” Louise told the Fresno Bee.
Dominic and Louise are also the first couple ever to get married at the venue.
We can’t wait to see how they’ll celebrate their 1 year anniversary!
