Lose pounds and years with this skin-plumping 7-day plan

How it works

This diet is based on the superfood power of tomatoes, which will help you lose weight and look younger. Tomatoes are low in calories, made up of 90 per cent water to plump the skin and packed with vitamin C.

The rules

– Eat a cooked, tomato-rich dinner every day

– Drink only plain water with lemon at mealtimes

– Coffee and tea without sugar can be drunk at any time between meals

– Only have one starch meal a day

– Snack on roasted or cherry tomatoes

Basic meals

Tomato and mozzarella salad – 1 large beef tomato, sliced, with 30g mozzarella, drizzled with 1tsp pesto

Tomato and parmesan salad – 2 medium tomatoes with a few fresh parmesan shavings. Dress with olive oil and basil leaves

Tomato and cucumber salad – 6 cherry tomatoes, 6 slices cucumber, 1 tbsp vinaigrette dressing

The diet

Day 1

Breakfast – Fruit salad

Snack – Tomato and cucumber salad

Lunch – Tomato soup with tomato and parmesan salad

Dinner – Tomato juice; tomato and mozzarella salad with spinach; fruit salad

Days 2-7

Breakfasts – 1 cup cereal with milk; 1 grapefruit; 1 boiled egg OR 2 toast with 1 scrambled egg; cappuccino; 1 grapefruit

Lunches – Tomato and parmesan salad; yogurt with apple OR tomato juice; hard cheese with grapes OR bowl of tomato soup; fruit salad with yogurt

Dinners – Tomato soup; baked cod with tomatoes and olives; potatoes, spinach with butter; plums with yogurt OR tomato juice; pizza with tomatoes, ham, olives, etc; salad with dressing; fruit salad with yogurt OR jacket potato with 1tsp butter; baked salmon, tomato and cucumber salad, baked apple and skimmed milk custard
