This drop a decade diet will help you look and feel years younger

How it works

The diet contains plenty of vegetables, nuts and seeds to make your digestive system work harder, boost your metabolism, while the low Glycemic Index levels keep blood sugar lower. Eat two main meals a day and two well-spaced snacks from the list below.

To drink: water, fresh citrus juices, tea or coffee with a little skimmed milk, if desired


– 1 hard-boiled egg and 1 slice Ryvita

– 30g slice of hard cheese, 1 apple

– 300ml apple juice

– Mixed melon chunks (red, green and orange) with 100g fresh prawns

– 3 Brazil nuts and 1 orange

– Half a melon filled with prawns and a little creamy dressing

– Half an avocado filled with 1tbsp tuna

– Banana dipped into 2 tbsp cottage cheese

– Orange filled with 1tbsp cottage cheese

– Handful unsalted nuts or sunflower seeds, 10 cherries


DAYS 1 AND 2 – The detox

Your first two days are a light detox of mostly fruit, raw vegetables and seeds to cleanse your system



Dinner-plate of sliced fruit, including half a banana, sliced, top with 1dsp slivered almonds


Start each meal with half a melon filled with raspberries or grapes. 

Fruit salad of pineapple, mango, half an apple, a few blueberries and 1oz chopped nuts. Top with 1tbsp natural fat-free yogurt


Crunchy Winter Salad with fruit and nuts. Makes enough for 2 days – Grate a large carrot, quarter of a small winter cabbage and a quarter of a red cabbage. Mix in a bowl with a large handful of broken walnuts, handful of sultanas, 6 thinly sliced radishes. Add a little oil, vinegar and lemon juice dressing just before serving each portion

Start with half a Galia melon.

Start with 150ml fresh pineapple juice. Smoothie made with 150ml milk, 10 strawberries, 6 almonds, 1tbsp plain yogurt and 2tsp honey


Start with 200ml glass of tomato juice. 150g Chicken escalope, pan-fried, served on spinach with carrot puree. Finish with baked applelightly score a baking apple all the way round to stop from bursting. Core and fill with sultanas, a little brown sugar and lemon zest. Rub the outside with a little butter and bake in a medium hot oven for 20 mins. Serve with yoghurt or half-fat crème fraiche



Fresh fruit platter, 1 slice of Multigrain Crispbread spread thinly with peanut or almond butter


Start with half a melon or 200ml tomato juice. Tuna fish salad with hard-boiled egg. Finish with roasted pineapple – slice off top and sides of whole pineapple and rub flesh with a little butter or sunflower oil. Place the pineapple on its side in a baking dish and sprinkle with brown/white sugar. Cover with foil and bake in a hot oven for 20 mins. Take off the foil for the last 10 mins



200ml fresh orange juice

2 eggs scrambled


Small fillet steak cut into strips and sautéed. Add 1tbsp crème fraiche to make Beef Stroganoff. Serve on a bed of mashed sweet potato and add broccoli and peas. Finish with stewed, spiced apple with fromage frais



30g Special K cereal with skimmed milk and 6 prunes


Melon, grape and mango platter


Omelette made with 1 whole egg and 3 whites. Cook in 1dsp oil

Mixed salad including 1 tbsp each of sweetcorn and peas


Vegetable and cashew nut stir-fry using a handful of cashew nuts, serve with soy sauce. Finish with poached pear in red wine served with 1dsp fromage frais
