Last night Woman’s Own and The Sick Children’s Trust joined together to host a celebrity packed tea party to to launch the charity’s Big Chocolate Tea Party campaign.
Joined by celebrities and supporters, at The May Fair Hotel inLondon, guests enjoyed chocolate cocktails while listening to former BGT singer Faryl Smith.
The charity’s Vice President, broadcaster, Alice Beer, hosted the event. Woman’s Own Editor Catherine Westwood said: ‘Family is very important to Woman’s Own, so supporting The Sick Children’s Trust was a natural choice for us, and as a parent of two small daughters, nothing could be closer to my heart personally.’
The Sick Children’s Trust needs to raise £1.3 million to keep eight homes at hospitals across the country so that families can stay free of charge while their child is in hospital.
The Big Chocolate Tea Party campaign will run through April. To hold a party, simply invite friends and family to share cups of tea and chocolate cake. Everyone donates, whether you charge an entry fee to your party or for the treats served.
