The hit dance show kicks off this weekend!
It may not be hitting our screens until Saturday, but it seems that one contestant could already be in with a chance of scoring a perfect 10 from judges.
Research from vouchercloud has revealed that former Hollyoaks actor Danny Mac, 28, could be waltzing off with the Strictly trophy. Looking at the history of past winners, the site came up with the most likely criteria for Strictly Come Dancing success.
What the Strictly champion should look like
The person most likely to hotfoot it to Strictly’s hall of fame should be:
- An Actor – 11 actors have been finalists across the 13 series. This narrowly beats musicians (10), TV presenters (9) and sportspeople (6)
- Male – 7 men and 6 women have held up the glitter-ball trophy
- 28-years-old – This is the average age for Strictly winners
Despite this law of averages, it definitely takes two to win Strictly. Professional partners are just as much a part of the equation as the dancers themselves. And when it comes to the partner of choice, Aliona Vilani – who could act as a potential stand-in this year – is the only one to win Strictly twice.
Fan favourites Brendan Cole and Pasha Kovalev have also both reached the final twice. The show is also getting no less than six new professional dancers this year!
They are as follows: AJ Pritchard, Chloe Hewitt, Neil Jones, Oksana Platero, Katya Jones and Gorka Marquez. With new talent thrown into the mix, it could still be anyone’s game as the new series kicks off.
