Not long to go now!
ITV’s hit crime drama Broadchurch is returning to our screens for a third instalment, a full three years after Season 2 came to an end.
The eight-episode series will kick off on February 27th with David Tennant and Olivia Coleman reprising their roles as detectives Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller.
This series focuses on a sexual assault case featuring former Coronation Street actress Julie Hesmondhalgh as the victim – farm shop worker Trish. Commenting on the forthcoming season, Tennant teased:
“You don’t want to give anything away, but I think [the ending] strikes the perfect note.
“Certainly in the case of my character and Olivia’s character, it leaves them exactly where you would expect them to be left.”
A host of new characters will also be joining the drama alongside Hesmondhalgh including:
Henry will play stubborn farm shop manager Ed Burnett. Could his calm exterior bely a more chaotic character just under the surface?
Parish play’s Trish’s best friend and all round life and soul of the party. Married to Jim for thirty years her 50th birthday celebrations could finally reveal cracks in their seemingly perfect marriage.
We are so excited about the new season and are on the countdown already!
