22nd December 2016 – Emmerdale fans left reeling after shock storyline
Fans of hit ITV soap Emmerdale were left completely flabbergasted by a shock storyline that unravelled in last night’s episode. In the wake of the loss of her daughter Moira Barton (Natalie J. Robb) sought comfort in the arms of nephew Pete (Anthony Quinlan). While this tender moment between two relatives wouldn’t have raised eyebrows normally, things went a step further.
A passionate kiss between the pair was a bridge too far for viewers, who shared their outrage via social media.
But while some cried incest, others were quick to point out that the two characters aren’t actually related.
Whatever the truth, we can hardly believe this development!
14th December 2016 – Eagle eyed viewers spot Eastenders blunder
When it comes to the list of soaps making on-screen slips ups, BBC’s Eastenders usually comes away unscathed. That was until last night’s episode. While Roxy Mitchell innocently browsed for cottages to rent for a Christmas getaway with her husband-to-be Jack Branning – viewers spotted a glaring error.
Although the chocolate box retreat looked like the perfect spot for a romantic weekend away for two, viewers spotted that the cottage couldn’t have been up for grabs. The reason? It belonged to none other than Shakespeare’s wife Anne Hathaway!
Could it be that Roxy has a connection to the famous playwright? We think that would make the ultimate episode of ‘Who do you think you are?’
9th December 2016 – Is Nigel Farage going to appear on Strictly?!
Many of us are only just recovering from politician Ed Balls’ bizarre (yet highly entertaining) participation in this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing. However, there could be a much worse prospect on the horizon.
According to reports, former UKIP leader Nigel Farage wants to follow in the footsteps of Ed Balls – and take to the dance-floor. Farage apparently thinks Ed, who lasted a surprising 10 weeks on Strictly, performed ‘brilliantly’.
It is said that Farage has ‘hinted’ that he’s ‘tempted’ to follow the former Shadow Chancellor onto the dance show next year, and he’s said he, ‘wouldn’t rule anything out’.
What do you think? Would you tune in if Nigel Farage was a contestant? Let us know by joining the conversation on our Facebook page!
7th December 2016 – Is Alison King making a return to the cobbles?
She made her name in Weatherfield as the feisty Carla Connor. And despite her character only being absent from the cobbles for six months, it seems that show producers may already be missing Alison King.
The award-winning actress was spotted on the set of the hit soap just last week and according to a source, cited in The Sun, new boss Kate Oates is keen for her to make a comeback.
“Alison decided to leave before Kate took over the role of series producer, something Kate was gutted about,” the source explained.
“Kate is a big fan of Alison and is keen to get her back full-time as she loved her character.
“Alison struggled to find work since leaving in the summer and the cast and viewers would love her to return too. There was always an emphasis on the door being left open for her character and several storylines are coming up that could make that happen.”
And Carla’s big comeback could come on one of the show’s biggest days, with bosses apparently keen to persuade her to return for the wedding of Carla’s dad Johnny Connor and Jenny Bradley (Johnny is set to pop the big question in an upcoming storyline!).
We really hope this happens!
5th December 2016 – Was it fixed for Scarlett to win ‘I’m a Celeb’?
She triumphantly claimed the I’m a Celeb crown over the weekend, and it seems that Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt could well be on her way dominating our TV screens.
But amidst all the celebrating a shadow has been cast over Scarlett’s emotional win. While bookies were under no illusions as to who was most likely to walk away triumphant from the jungle, fans still held out hope that their favourite stars would be the last to walk across the jungle’s rope bridge. But now the hit ITV show has come under fire over claims that the show was ‘fixed’ from the start – with fears that Scarlett was tipped for success from the outset.
A seemingly light-hearted meme of the reality star took on more significance when it was tweeted alongside the following comment:
The post – which came ahead of the show’s final outcome – prompted a backlash from I’m a Celeb fans.
While some vented their frustration, many were rooting for the lass from up North.
Whatever the truth, we think Scarlett’s pretty fab!
2nd December – Bookies update odds on who will win ‘I’m A Celebrity’
29th November 2016 – Mary Berry is BACK on Bake Off
But it’s not GBBO as we know it! The Queen of Cakes is also a judge on the US version of the show called ‘The Great American Baking Show’.
Although the set up is the same, with the baking tent and rows of nervous contestants constantly staring into their ovens, Berry is joined by different co-hosts and judges.
New York pastry chef Johnny Luzzini joins Mary as a fellow judge on the show, and ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ star Nia Vardalos presents the show with her husband Ian Gomez.
We’re not sure it would be the same without Mel & Sue and their many innuendos, but it’s nice to see Mary Berry keeping the Bake Off going now GBBO as we know it in the UK is no more!
25th November 2016 – I’m a Celeb heath scare sweeps through camp
The contestants of hit reality show I’m a Celeb are no stranger to runs ins with the jungle camp’s creepy crawlies. And it seems that the latest epidemic sweeping the camp is the most bizarre critter-related incident yet.
While the jungle shower helps to keep the campmates feeling clean and fresh, this may not go far enough to helping offset a certain ‘fungus’ problem plaguing the camp. As Medic Bob explains:
“We have problems every year with the cast, especially women, funnily enough, growing fungus on certain body parts.”
Under no illusions as to Medic Bob’s meaning, I’m a Celeb Extra Camp presenter Joe Swash teased: “Now when Bob says certain body parts, we all know he know what he means!”
Putting on his medical hat once more, Dr Bob revealed that he had been offering a few choice words of hygiene advice to the I’m a Celeb contestants.
“It is a hygiene problem. Even though the celebrities in the camp are quite healthy, I have been instructing them to use the shower and (encourage) personal hygiene a bit more!”
24th November 2016 – Call the Midwife confirmed for new series
Call the Midwife fans rejoice. If you thought news of a Christmas special was exciting, then you’ll probably want to mark the latest show update with a good old East End knees up.
Show producers have confirmed that the feel good BBC Drama will be getting three more series, with the first instalment kicking off from January. Show favourites Helen George – aka Trixie Franklin – and Charlotte Ritchie – aka Barbara Gilbert – will be reprising their on-screen roles.
We can’t wait!
23rd November 2016 – Holly Willoughby gets a new co-host
Replicating the on-screen chemistry of This Morning co-hosts Holly and Phil is no easy feat. But one person is about to step into Phil’s shoes for the day and attempt to do just that.
Viewers tuning into today’s episode will spot a new face on the This Morning sofa. And he’s no stranger to television.
Strictly Come Dancing star Ore Oduba will cover for silver fox Phil for the day, with BBC bosses giving him special permission to take up the presenting slot.
A source said: “He has agreed with BBC bosses to take some time out from rehearsals to do the show. Everyone is really excited.”
Ore appeared on the show to talk Strictly just a few weeks ago, so we’re sure he will be a dab hand!
18th November 2016 – Peter Andre making Coronation Street debut?
It’s the Coronation Street moment we didn’t know we’d been waiting for until now. Pictures released by ITV bosses have hinted at a potential cameo role for Peter Andre on the cobbles and Twitter is already alight with excited soap fans!
Weatherfield’s Gemma Winter – played Dolly-Rose Campbell – has gushed about her love of the Mysterious Girl singer. And after winning a Good Citizen Award she may finally have the chance to meet him. However, it seems that luck isn’t on Gemma’s side when the singer reportedly drops out last minute.
Luckily kebab shop boss Chesney Brown steps in. Could the above picture confirm that he has managed to turn things around? Fans of soap seemed convinced he did.
15th November 2016 – Piers Morgan criticised after slamming the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here contestants
Piers Morgan has never been afraid to make public jibes and digs at his fellow celebrities. Despite not being the most popular man on TV himself, Piers couldn’t resist slamming the ‘stars’ of this years series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
Chatting to his Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid about the show, Piers referred to the contestants as little known “Z-listers” before suggesting that the show would be more entertaining if their lives were at stake.
He said: “I quite like the idea of ‘I’m A Celebrity I Might Not Survive The Show’ literally…
“Death by funnel web spider – I’d watch that.
“The idea of a bunch of Z-listers getting killed by spiders – excellent television.”
Although the comments were likely made in jest, many viewers branded Piers “nasty” and “unnecessary”.
What do you think? Does Piers have a point? Let us know your thoughts by joining the conversation on our Facebook page!
8th November 2016 – Carol Vorderman reveals the real reason she wanted to enter the jungle!
The line-up for I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here 2016 has finally been announced – and it’s one of the best yet! [SEE THE FULL LINE-UP HERE]. One of the most recognisable faces of the group is none other than presenter, radio host and Countdown Queen Carol Vorderman!
The 55-year-old admitted she was aware many people would question her reasons for appearing on a reality TV show that involves eating animal off-cuts and being almost permanently muddy. However, the star revealed that she was motivated by, “the sense of adventure” she feels after going through the menopause.
Speaking ahead of going into the jungle this week she said, “I know people will ask “why does Carol need to do this?” but I have never ever paid attention to what others think. I make my own decisions.”
“I have been watching the show for years and have laughed so much. It is so funny.
“Now I am a menopausal Mama, I am having the time of my life. I am doing a lot more adventurous stuff and it’s the sense of adventure that I love about this show. It’s a very free time in my life.”
Talking about her phobias ahead of the show, the mum-of-two admitted she’s going to find certain things, “tough”. “I’ve never had to put myself in a situation like this” Carol admitted. “But lack of food, surviving with nothing and not having any outside contact is going to be tough.”
3rd November 2016 – Kevin Kennedy hints of a return to Coronation Street
Kevin Kennedy – aka Norman ‘Curly’ Watts – has hinted at a potential return to the hit soap during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine show this morning. One of Weatherfield’s most iconic characters, Curly was a firm fixture on the cobbles for 20 years.
Jumping from one failed love interest to another Coronation Street viewers couldn’t help but find him endearing. Now after a 13-year-absence, Kevin has hinted that he wouldn’t rule out a triumphant comeback to the soap.
“It’s no secret that I’d love to return,” he told Lorraine.
We would LOVE to see this happen!
31st October 2016 – Simon Cowell makes ultimate gaffe live on TV
There’s something about having a seat on the X Factor judging panel that turns otherwise unflappable music industry moguls into a jumbling ball of nerves.
Who can forget Sharon’s Obsourne’s temporary memory relapse when it came to announcing one of her key acts Saara Alto? And now the latest to fall victim to this phenomenon is none other than Mr X Factor himself.
As the judging panel revealed who they wanted to send home from the line-up, Simon Cowell quickly blurted out ‘Gifty’ – before immediately retracting his statement.
“No! I’m not sending Gifty home, I’m sending the girls home” before Dermot stepped in saying: “Just to recap… The name of the act you’re sending home.”
Coming to his senses he replied: “Ok, rewind. The act I’m sending home… God… Four Of Diamonds”
Sadly this statement wasn’t enough to save Gifty, with the aspiring songstress becoming the fourth person to be voted off the show.
Rapper Honey G survived the cut once more, sending Twitter into meltdown.
28th October 2016 – Is one of Coronation Street’s most outrageous characters set to return to the cobbles?
She played loud mouth mum of two Cilla Battersby-Brown, and with her fictional kids still at home on the cobbles, has actress Wendi Peters revealed that her character might be on her way back to Weatherfield?
Appearing on the Lorraine show, Wendi admitted that Cilla’s return could well be a possibility.
“The thing is, it’s lucky that the door is open” the actress said. “Fiz and Ches are still there. I’m a firm believer in never say never -you never know what is around the corner.”
Speaking of her brief stint back on the show in 2014 Wendi said, “She [Cilla] brings back such happy memories, but she just looked a bugger didn’t she – she was awful. But she was fun. I went back a couple of years ago and it was really fun.’
So, watch this space! Cilla could be back on the cobbles before you know it…
20th October 2016 – Steph and Dom quite Googlebox
Gogglebox’s favourite posh couple Steph and Dom have sensationally quit the hit reality TV show. Loyal fans of the series may have noticed the absence of the wine-swigging B & B owners from the recent series.
And now we can reveal what motivated their decision. The couple said they have left the Gogglebox sofa to give a new generation of armchair critics the chance to air their views on the week’s most popular TV shows.
“We think it’s important that everyone gets their chance to be on Gogglebox and give their opinion,” they told The Sun.
“Having been on it from the beginning we felt like we’d pretty much said all we needed to say, and we knew what we were going say.”
But far from retiring from the limelight the couple confirmed that they are working on other projects to fill the Gogglebox-shaped hole in their lives.
“We’ve got other projects and not a lot of time. We’re very busy and filming at the hotel was pretty tough.”
We can’t wait to hear more!
18th October 2016 – Cold Feet commissioned for a second series
After a 13 year absence ITV drama Cold Feet came back with a bang last month. And now viewers can look forward to another dose of James Nesbitt, Fay Ripley and more as the show has been recommissioned for a second series.
While the show has received mixed reviews from critics, it is has received a warm welcome from loyal viewers:
Commenting on the decision, and the show’s continued success, ITV’s director of television, Kevin Lygo said:
“We all said we only wanted to bring Cold Feet back if we could maintain the standard previously set. I’ve been blown away by the show’s reception among viewers and critics alike.
“It has exceeded even my hopes. This recommission confirms that we didn’t screw it up. I shall take a moment to bask in the warm glow… OK, done that. Now the hard graft resumes.”
The new eight-part series will go into production on location in Manchester during March 2017.
17th October 2016 – This Morning makes a massive soap blunder
Helen Worth’s appearance on hit daytime show This Morning, was a welcome sight for Coronation Street fans.
But as the credits introducing the 65-year-old star rolled across the screen, fans couldn’t help but notice that a major mistake had been made.
As Worth – who plays Gail Platt on the award-winning soap – spoke about her character’s latest drama, the following words appeared at the bottom of the screen:
‘Gail Rodwell plays Gail McIntyre.’
Not one to miss a trick, viewers took to Twitter to express their dismay:
Worth has starred in the soap for an impressive 42 years. And in that time her name changes have included Rodwell, Potter, Tilsley, Platt, Hillman and McIntyre. No wonder This Morning staff were flummoxed!
14th October 2016 – Gogglebox launches new spin-off show
Following the success of Gogglesprogs, the hit reality show’s makers have announced that it will be launching a teen version.
Gogglebox Teens is likely to air on E4’s on-demand service, All 4. But first the show’s producers need to strike a deal with All3media and Channel 4.
Speaking about his hopes for the new show, Studio Lambert chief executive Stephen Lambert said:
“If Gogglesprogs is for kids and Gogglebox is for adults, there’s another group in the middle. There’s a whole layer of innovation as to how we’re going to make it.”
We’re keeping our fingers crossed that this comes off. And that there’ll be a teen version of Scarlett Moffatt to have us howling from our seats.

We can’t wait!

29th September 2016 – ‘Out Girl’ fans up in arms after they spot missing scene
Our Girl fans took to Twitter to voice their anger over last night’s episode. When Captain Charles James (Ben Aldridge) meets up with Michelle Keegan’s on-screen fiancé he reveals something that shocked the show’s viewers.
Chatting to Dr Jamie Cole (Royce Pierreson) over coffee, Charles says: “My wife’s a serving soldier”.
While this comment may seem innocent enough, fans of the show were quick to point out that Charles and his girlfriend Molly Dawes (played by Lacey Turner) never had an on-screen wedding.
Here’s hoping that Dr Jamie and Lance Corporal Georgie get the chance to say ‘I do’!
27th September 2016 – Is Joan Collins joining the cast of Corrie?
It’s a casting call we didn’t see coming. But apparently the ever glamorous Joan Collins could make an appearance on the cobbles.
The 83-year-old actress is said to have her eye on hit soap Corrie. While it might seem like an unusual move for the Dame, she has actually rubbed shoulders with Corrie stars before. Joan appeared in a one-off spin-off for the soap back in 2000. During ‘Viva Las Vegas’ the A-list star bumped into Jack and Vera Duckworth on board a plane bound for Sin City. You couldn’t make it up!
On her soap ambitions a source told the Daily Star newspaper: “Joan loves ‘Corrie’ and has been making sure she is up to date with it while on the road. With any luck she could get a recurring role in it.”
Joan has also had an offer from primetime teen drama Hollyoaks. But it appears that she wasn’t willing to carve out time in her schedule for this offbeat appearance.
Joan told Dan Wootton’s Bizarre column: “I was just asked to be in Hollyoaks but I’m not doing it. You know who is doing it? Linda Gray.
“Between the movie and the new show I wouldn’t have the time for anything else.”
We can’t wait to see how this story develops!
