The comedian did not hold back when she dropped this joke...

Former Great British Bake Off host Sue Perkins is a master of witty one liners, and last night was no exception.

Sue was up on stage presenting the Annual BAFTA Awards when she made a joke at her expense, and also dropped some serious shade in the process….

Sue was speaking about the popular BBC’s The Replacement, the gripping drama about two women battling it out over the same position.

“How amazing were Vicky McClure and Morven Christie in The Replacement?” she asked the audience. “A show about how stressful it can be when someone takes over your job.

“I mean, I really couldn’t relate to it.”

The comment was made in reference to Sue’s decision not to ‘follow the dough’, when the Bake Off was bought out by Chanel 4 last year.

The comedian added: “Best of luck to the new Bake Off team, they are going to need it. They are about to discover what Mel and I left for them in the ground sheet.”

Sue also made jokes about Mary Berry who was sitting in the audience. She joined Mary and Ed Balls in a comic sequence ahead of the night which saw the trio sit down for a game of strip poker.

What happened to the GBBO?

The Great British Bake Off first started back in 2010. It quickly became one of the nation’s favourite programmes. Sue co-presented the show alongside Mel Giedroyc for the whole duration of the shows time on BBC Two and were renowned for their baking innuendos.

It was announced last year that the BBC had lost the rights to the show and would be moving to Channel 4. Love Productions , who produce the show, signed a three-year deal with the station, after the BBC failed to match the 25million bid. The only original member of the team to move over with Channel 4 is Paul Hollywood. He will now judge the baking hopefuls alongside Prue Leith, with Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig presenting it.
