The music mogul, 54, will return to the ITV talent show, which he describes as his ‘baby’, when auditions kick off later this year in a bid to boost failing ratings and to heat up the competition with BBC rival Strictly Come Dancing.
And that’s not all Simon has in store for the show, he’s also said to be ramping up efforts to secure Cheryl Cole’s return to the panel and is also said to have his eye on Rita Ora and Dannii Minogue for the panel.
