The Duchess apparently owns a necklace by London-based designer Merci Maman. The sweet gold necklace is said to be inspired a similar one that Prince Charles gifted to Princess Diana after she gave birth to Prince William. Diana’s necklace was inscribed with William’s name, and she was often spotted in it in when out on royal engagements.
Catherine was gifted her gold necklace by sister Pippa, who was aware of the family connection, and purchased the chain as a touching tribute to Diana for Catherine. Just like Diana’s, Kate’s necklace is also engraved with the name of her son, and also features an initial from William’s name too.
On their website, Merci Maman wrote “In 2013, Pippa Middleton continued this family tradition by giving her sister Kate, The Duchess of Cambridge, our Personalised Duchess Necklace to celebrate the birth of Prince George.
