Our jaws have just dropped!
They’re currently starring on screen together in dark HBO comedy Big Little Lies. But it seems that airtime is the only thing Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman are sharing, according to recent reports.
The seasoned actresses are said to be at loggerheads over the same show that should have brought them together.
Aussie mag New Idea has reported that mum-of-three Reese is fuming over the fact that friend and co-star Nicole didn’t take enough time to promote the HBO series in the run up to it’s debut last month.
Yep, its alleged that the small matter of Nicole’s press time for huge box office smash Lion – for which she received a best supporting actress nod – stood in the way of their series getting on the box set radar.
An insider claims:
“Reese is furious that Nicole hasn’t done more to support Big Little Lies. All she’s talked about in interviews is Lion. Had Reese known that Nicole would put the show so far on the backburner, she would have cast some random.”
And the rift between the pair was said to have come to a head at the Oscar’s last month.
“You could cut the tension with a knife at the Oscars. Nicole was telling her people to keep Reese away from her – there’s no love lost at all,” claimed the insider.
“If the show doesn’t make any waves or get better ratings, it will probably mark the end of Reese and Nicole’s joint ventures.”
