Can you guess which member of the iconic 90s pop band Steps has come out and said they still hate their band-mates? This is despite the band's successful comeback!
The world of pop music is prone to drama… and ‘Steps’ are no exception! The iconic 90s band has been known to have their fair share of internal rivalries but when they made a comeback that competed against the likes of Ed Sheeran in the charts, you would be forgiven for assuming they were on good terms.
Or…maybe not. Steps star H, otherwise known as Ian Watkins has revealed that he still ‘hates’ his band-mates during a podcast for the Sun’s Bizarre section.
Steps announced their comeback in December last year and their single ‘Tears On The Dancefloor’ reached number two in the charts behind Ed’s ‘Divide’. This was quite an accomplishment which even Ed described as an amazing achievement. But this success was not enough to prevent some squabbles.
H said: ” I love these guys and I hate them at the same time. I’ve known them for 20 years and they know I don’t mean it maliciously. They probably feel the same about me as well.”
Phewwww! We can all breathe a little sigh of relief that the band do actually still love each other as much as we love their smash hits. Well… Maybe not quite that much.
What is next for Steps?
It is definitely reassuring that another break-up isn’t on the cards any time soon. In fact, the band have their UK tour starting later this year and the video for their single Story Of A Heart being released in the next few weeks.
At the band’s height, they enjoyed two number one albums and 14 consecutive top five singles. Could their new attempt at the charts be as successful as this? They’ve already given Ed a run for his money so we will just have to wait and see what other tunes they have hidden up their sleeves…
