Finding holiday cover can be hard in any job...
The Good Morning Britain presenter often has the nation divided by his commentary on current affairs. But having said that, viewers are still being very critical of Piers Morgan’s potential replacement.
Regular television host and presenter Eamonn Holmes has stepped in on several occasions to cover while Piers is on holiday – and rumour has it he’s first in line.
Over the Easter holidays Eamonn juggled a very busy schedule. He continued to host This Morning with his wife Ruth Langsford and covered Piers on Good Morning Britain, which starts at 6am every weekday.
Eamonn is now in line to replace Piers when he jets off for another holiday later this summer – and its fair to assume the reaction will be mixed.
When Eamonn stepped in for the Bank holiday on 31 May, viewers of Good Morning Britain did not hold back their criticisms.
One viewer tweeted: “@EamonnHolmes on #GMB giving me the creeps ..Never thought I would say it..Miss you @piersmorgan”. Another viewer was clearly disappointed. She said: “Week off work and there’s no @piersmorgan on @GMB” with a sad face emoji.
But the reactions were not all bad. Some people even wished the replacement was permanent. One user tweeted: “So brilliant to wake up and see
@EamonnHolmes this morning rather than boring @piersmorgan. I am sure @CharlotteHawkns agreed too!”
What do you think?
So, what do you think? Is Good Morning Britain Facebook Page better off without Piers Morgan, or do you love to hate him? Is is fair on Eamonn to always have to step in and do you actually prefer him? Let us know in the comments below! also, join the conversation on our !
Another user said: “I love Mr
@EamonnHolmes presenting @GMB he’s a cutie, unlike the egotistical maniac that is Mr @piersmorgan x”.
Several called for Eamonn to replace Piers permanently… One user said: “@EamonnHolmes Can you please stay on @GMB every day?” and another added: “@GMB please can you keep @EamonnHolmes program is so much calmer”.
It’s hard to please everyone, but with Piers’ holiday around the corner it will be interesting to see who will host Good Morning Britain… We would love to hear your thoughts and any alternative hosts you might like to see!
