We’ve all be suffering with the soaring temperatures over the last few days, and it seems that even Britain’s biggest TV stations are not immune from the sweltering heat covering the country.

A series of glitches blighted Good Morning Britain today as ITV’s equipment struggled to cope with the warm weather.

“We have lost complete control” Piers Morgan declared as ad breaks finished too soon, footage suddenly cut to black screens and a technical timer suddenly replaced the morning news show.

Susanna Reid stepped up to make a quick apology for the mishaps. She said, “I need to just quickly make a quick apology to people watching.

“Not for anything we’ve done here at the desk, apparently viewers have been seeing, while we’ve been discussing these important issues, other stuff on air.”

“A graphic and some commercials, just probably in slightly the wrong place, so just in cases you’re a bit confused, here we are, we’re back and we’re going to continue the discussion.”

An unimpressed Piers Morgan retorted jokingly, “How do they know this is real?”

Susanna continued, “This is because apparently, the technical equipment at Chiswick in London at our transmission centre is overheating.”

“Now I don’t know if that is a direct result of the very hot weather, but it is meaning that things are being put on air that we are not attending.”

Piers, who was irritated live on air by technical problems with his microphone earlier in the week, concluded the explanation by quipping, “Basically it means we have lost complete control and anything could happen.”
