They first met in 2002 on a reality TV show that would see them catapulted to global fame as part of award-winning girl band Girls Aloud. Now, after years of life changing experiences together, best friends Kimberley Walsh and Cheryl Tweedy are raising their babies together too!
Kimberley and Cheryl have known each other for almost 15 years after they met on TV show Popstars: The Rivals. Despite the fact that their pop group, Girls Aloud, split in 2013, the two talented singers have remained good friends years later.
After going through so much together, it was a complete coincidence that the friends ended up having their babies within just three months of each other. Kimberley Walsh was already mum to son Bobby, when she gave birth to baby Cole last December. Cheryl and Liam announced the birth of their son Bear in March.
Not just Girls Aloud for play date with baby boys
Kimberley, 35, revealed during an interview with Holly and Phil on This Morning that she and fellow mum Cheryl, 33, are hoping their little boys will grow up to be firm friends – just like their mums! The former pop-stars have even already organised their first play date for the little ones.
“Cheryl is really good and doing brilliantly,” she said. “I went over the other day with the boys and they caused mayhem. We let them play together.”
“It’s amazing to see her doing so well. We do it all together and share the experience together.”
Speaking before baby Bear was born, Kimberley couldn’t help gushing about her best friend Cheryl, and how her new man Liam and motherhood was making her happier than ever: “She’s really happy right now. And she’ll be a brilliant mum. She has loads of nieces and nephews, so she’s used to the madness of children.”
