Move over, Cupid!
Would you have picked Holly Willoughby to host the show? We’re certainly excited, but can it match up to the likes of First Dates, Love Island and old school favourite Blind Date? We’ll soon find out!
This Morning’s Holly Willoughby is a woman of many talents.
As well as her numerous presenting jobs and running around after three kids, somehow she’s managed to fit playing cupid into the mix.
ITV have announced that the presenter will be the host of their latest dating show, Meet The Parents.
The show will see unsuspecting young singletons sent out on dates with a stranger… Chosen by their mum and dad! Cue lots of awkward pairings and cringe-worthy childhood flashbacks.
We grilled First Dates maître d’ Fred Sirieix on modern day romance, and he was just as charming as you’d expect!
Bosses invited Holly to take part in the pilot episode of the show. They offered her the job straight away, praising her warm and approachable presenting style.
Holly said: “We all know how embarrassing parents can be and nobody knows you better than they do.
“I can’t wait to hear what humiliating secrets they’ll be revealing. And see who will regret leaving their love life in the hands of their parents!”
This will be the second time the star has followed in the footsteps of Blind Date’s legendary former host Cilla Black. Hols also presented a revamped version of the late star’s show, Surprise Surprise.
Could this be Blind Date for the new generation? We can’t wait to find out and see how you get on Holly!
