Kate Winslet holding up her CBE outside Buckingham PalaceWhen mum-of-two and Oscar-winner Kate Winslet went to the palace to receive her CBE for services to drama and met the Queen for the first time, they ended up talking about their children.

Kate, who was accompanied by her daughter Mia, 12, and eight-year-old  son Joe, said ‘I didn’t dare look over at them in case one of them had their finger up their nose or something!’

Kate also met a very special woman, Anna Kennedy, who received an OBE after campaigning for nearly two decades for better awareness of autism, and pledged her support.

She said, ‘I think why was I given one of these when you’re sitting next to people who have done such extraordinary things for the protection of children online, services to drama pales in comparison but it’s an unbelievable honour.’
