Jason GardinerAs the temperature plummets, we’ve been thinking about the new series of Dancing on Ice and the return of Mr Mean, Jason Gardiner back on the panel.

‘I will be the judge I have been from day one and will call it as I see it,’ says Jason. ‘I challenge the contestants so they become great. There is a method in my meanness. I’m not here to patronise everybody.’

Jason famously left the show after an on-air spat with coach Karen Barber in 2011 and was replaced by Louie Spence, who along with Katarina Witt, will not be rejoining the show.

‘There are some things that I wish didn’t play out in front of 10 million but, hey, it’s live TV and these things happen,’ says Jason. ‘Things can go amiss sometimes. But I don’t regret anything. You only regret the things you don’t do in life and I do most of them!’

Dancing on Ice will return in January 6…
