Do we have another mogul in the making?
The relationship between Simon Cowell and two-year-old son Eric couldn’t be any cuter. The doting dad and his little boy have often been spotted enjoying some quality father-son time both on and off screen.
And now it seems that the music mogul could be priming his only child for a life in showbiz. The 57-year-old revealed that he wouldn’t stand in Eric’s way if his son decided to leave education at 16. In fact, if Eric did walk out of the school gates before his A-levels the X Factor judge says he’d be happy to have him join the family business.
“I’d say to Eric leave at 16 if you want to work, 100% I would encourage him,” he said during an interview on BBC Radio 2.
“I don’t understand why you want to torture someone to be somewhere where they don’t want to be.”
Eric has already proved himself to be a natural in front of the camera, so we can just imagine him following in his millionaire father’s footsteps.
Simon also said he’d be able to relate to his son’s decision because he “wasn’t particularly academic” himself.
Continuing, he said: “I found the whole process tedious, monotonous, too many rules, and I made up my mind then, when I’m 16, I’m out.”
