The countdown is on for George and Amal!

She first showed signs of baby bump back in January, and by February it was confirmed that Amal and George Clooney were expecting twins.

George cancelled a trip to Yerevan, Armenia over the weekend to stay home with his wife. Could the birth be happening very soon?

The actor still attended the award ceremony of the Aurora Price for Awakening Humanity last night – in video form. During his video speech, he joked about his ‘travel ban’.

“I really would have been [in Yerevan] but if I came there and my wife had twins while I was there, I could never come home,” George said.

The news was announced by Julie Chen – host of US show The Talk. Congratulations quickly poured in from fans of the couple and their tributes were quite entertaining.

Close friend Matt Damon failed to contain his excitement as he reacted to the news on Entertainment Tonight Canada.

He said: “I’m thrilled for him. She’s amazing. He hit the jackpot. Just on every level. She is a remarkable woman. They’re gonna be great. They’re gonna be awesome parents. Those kids are lucky.”

What we know so far…

A source told In Touch in February that the 39-year-old Human Rights Lawyer “is pregnant with twins: a boy and a girl.”

TV host Chen also revealed the date that the A-list pair will be welcoming two little bundles of joy into their life, saying “the twins are due this June”.
With the due date just around the corner, the couple will have been busy getting everything in place for their arrival.
Back in April a source told E! that Amal planned to give birth in London and raise the twins there for at least the first few years of their life. Amal’s legal career is based in London, so it’s a sensible option for the family.

But will the couple end up ditching the capital in favour of somewhere more child-friendly? According to a new study London is the worst place to raise children. London’s high crime rates and expensive homes makes it the most unpopular place to raise a family. The most family-friendly city was Newcastle, followed by Derby and Wolverhampton.
However, London has some fun potential playmates. Who knows, with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge settling into Kensington Palace, will Prince George and Princess Charlotte have future playdates with the Clooney twins? Just thinking about it gets us excited!
