We're not sure how we're going to cope...
Hit singer Adele has always impressed her loyal fans with her ability to juggle motherhood with her successful career.
The singer has recently finished up a mammoth tour of her album 25, spanning continents including the US, Austrialia and Europe.
But now Adele’s world tour has come to an end, and judging from a new, handwritten letter, the megastar could well be set to hang up her touring hat for good.
The superstar has just finished up four shows at London’s Wembley Arena closing her 18 months on tour. And according to the letter in the concert programme, they might well be her last!
The letter read, “So this is it. After 15 months on the road and 18 months of 25 we are at the end. Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn’t suit me particularly well. I’m a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things.
“Plus, I’m dramatic and have a terrible history of touring. Until now that is!”
“I’ve done 119 shows and these last four will take me up to 123. It has been hard but an absolute thrill and pleasure to have done. I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artists have had on me live.
Heartbreakingly, the final line of the letter seemed to confirm that Adele would no longer be putting on live shows. She wrote, “And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home. Thank you for coming, for all of your ridiculous love and kindness. I will remember all of this for the rest of my life.”
Say it ain’t so!
Her previous reservations about touring…
The news comes when sources revealed back in 2016 that Adele wanted to focus on her son over her career.
A source told the newspaper: “Angelo is the number one priority for Adele. He is the most important thing in her life.
“Adele doesn’t want to miss a moment of Angelo growing up. And it’s an easy decision for her to give up touring for him.”
While the news hasn’t been confirmed by Adele’s camp, it’s been suggested the fact that Angelo is due to start school next year could be prompting the Hello hitmaker to put down roots.
What’s next for Adele?
According to the same source, Adele is considering following in the footsteps of fellow singers including Britney Spears and Celine Dion, by taking up a Las Vegas residency.
“A regular Vegas show appeals to her because it is in one place and she would be able to maintain a normal life, but it won’t happen for a number of years,” the source continued.
