The comedian-actress is bringing her winning humour to a new Sky 1 drama.
Dawn French is starring in a new TV series, and we couldn’t be more excited!
Described as an “honest and compelling story of love, sex, lies and betrayal” Delicious also co-stars Silent Witness actress Emilia Fox.
The A-list cast list continues with Game of Thrones star Iain Glen and seasoned actress Sheila Hancock.
Revealing her delight over the new show, Fox said:
“As a starter it’s heaven to be working with Dawn French and Iain Glen again. For main course – an absolute treat to be working on such great scripts. For the perfect recipe – a brilliant crew, cast and production team. I can’t wait to tuck in!”
Mr Selfridge writer Dan Sefton has penned the four-part Sky 1 drama, while Wedding Date’s Clare Kilner is directing. The show is set to hit our screens in late 2016 or early 2017.
French to play the ‘other woman’
While French has yet to make a comment on the show, we do know that she is playing the part of culinary genius Gina, while Glen plays her ex-husband Leo Vincent – a successful entrepreneur, chef and hotel owner.
Fox will star as Leo’s latest squeeze Sam, who turns to Gina for a shoulder to cry on when she suspects he is having an affair. But the twist in the tale is that Gina is actually the ‘other woman’.
On his role Glen said: “The script for Delicious was irresistible.
“Funny, poignant and unpredictable. I can’t wait to dig my teeth into this feast of a drama.”
Pastries and passion – we couldn’t think of a better pairing!
