The rumours that Cheryl could be pregnant were only confirmed earlier this week when the star stepped out debuting a growing baby bump. The 33-year-old singer has being keeping quiet about the growing speculation, with both the star and boyfriend Liam Payne refusing to comment on the matter.
However, now the pregnancy has been confirmed, it appears there could be a chance that Cheryl could be expecting not one, but two new additions to the family!
In the most recent episode of the hit BBC series Who Do You Think You Are? Cheryl discovered that there is a history of twins in her family!
The programme explored Cheryl’s family tree. During the course of the BBC show, it revealed that her great-great-great-grandfather Joseph Ridley fathered twins.
The star’s relative began a relationship with his maid Edith Annie Burton when he was aged 50. This was following the death of his wife Mary Ann in 1930.
Two years in to their relationship, Edith gave birth to twins, one of whom was Cheryl’s grandmother Olga.
Cheryl’s grandfather Joseph fought in the Battle of the Somme earlier in his life. “I’m really really proud of him Cheryl gasped during the episode.
With the news that Cheryl has already decided on her favourite baby names, it’s probably a good idea that she’s got a couple in mind. Twins can run in families! The NHS confirms that, “a couple is more likely to have twins if there are twins in the woman’s family.”
So, perhaps the first-time parents are about to welcome two new little ones into the world! Watch this space!
