Bernie Nolan loses her battle to cancerBernie Nolan has passed away at the age of 52 after losing her battle with cancer.

The former lead singer of The Nolans was originally given the all clear by doctors two years ago after battling breast cancer. Sadly the cancer returned last year, in her liver, lungs, bones and brain and doctors told Bernie that this time it was incurable.

After learning that she was dying Bernie began writing her life story, Now & Forever, which husband Steve took over writing when she became too ill to complete it.

Bernie leaves behind her daughter Erin, 14.

A spokesman for the family said: ‘Bernie passed away peacefully this morning with all of her family around her. The entire family are devastated to have lost beloved Bernie, a wonderful wife, adoring mother and loving sister, she is irreplaceable. They kindly ask people to respect their privacy at this difficult time.’
