Amanda, 42, revealed: ‘I’m not sure if it’s to do with David but over the last couple of years, Simon is a changed person. He is happy in himself and loving life, and because of that everything around him is much more relaxed.’
The BGT judge added: ‘I can’t wait to hear what comes out of David’s mouth next and see Simon either squirm or laugh out loud, depending what kind of day it is. Simon was always the naughty teaser… but he’s met his match in David. It makes me laugh that sometimes Simon is uncomfortable – it’s the universe getting him back!’
The actress also confessed that her daughter Lexi loved watching the BGT auditions being filmed so much that she now stages pretend auditions at home using props from the toy cupboard.
Amanda said: ‘I was played by Barbie, and David was Ken, which is about right. Alesha was Disney’s Princess Tiana and Simon was an Aladdin doll. And then Mummy had to come in and be an act!’
Britain’s Got Talent is on ITV tonight at 7:30pm.
