Adele at 2013 Golden GlobesLast night’s Golden Globes awards ceremony was meant to celebrate the success stories of American TV and movies.

But one Brit star stole the show.

Adele won the Golden Globe for best original song for Bond theme Skyfall and thanked her ‘lovely son’, who she gave birth to in October but has yet to name publicly.

On accepting the award the 24 year old said, ‘I was not expecting this… thank you so much for letting me be a part of your world for a night. I’ve been p***ing myself laughing.’

She also thanked boyfriend Simon Konecki, who convinced her to perform the theme.

On the red carpet before the ceremony, the singer said, ‘Motherhood is lovely, I’m really enjoying it. It’s absolutely amazing, it’s very surreal and quite hilarious because this is not my normal field. My inspiration normally comes from heartbreak but I don’t think I’m going to be devastated again.’

Adele’s theme for Skyfall has also been nominated for Best Original Song at the BAFTAs and Oscars.
