With fans still coming to terms with the news that the Great British Bake Off as they know it has come to an end, it appears that it’s not only the show’s viewers who are worried about what will happen when GBBO moves to Channel 4.
Paul Hollywood is the only name from the show who has signed a contract to film the next series with Channel 4. He has since admitted that he is “nervous” about what the new show will be like.
Channel 4 bought the rights to the popular show. The shock move will see it leave the BBC after seven series. Love Productions, the makers of GBBO, struck a three-year deal with Channel 4. The deal is worth a reported £75million.
Fans mourned the end of GBBO as we know it as the seventh series came to end last month.

Presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins were the first to announce that they would remain loyal to the BBC, and quit their roles on the show. Judge Mary Berry followed suit, announcing that she would not follow the show to Channel 4.
Fans were devastated that the baking aficionado wouldn’t appear on the Great British Bake Off Channel 4. Many have claimed that without the show’s cheeky presenters and Mary, all that Channel 4 have bought is the tent.

The negative fan reaction has no doubt caused Paul to feel worried about his role on GBBO without the rest of the team.
Appearing at a London Upfronts event, held for advertisers, Channel 4 boss Jay Hunt asked the 50-year-old baker how he was feeling about the forthcoming reboot.
‘Nervous,’ came Paul’s curt reply. However, in order to reassure the team at the event the baker added, “For me, I’m so excited and I know we will have a great time on Channel 4.”
Although Paul will be the only one to appear on the Great British Bake Off Channel 4, we’ll still be seeing a lot of his old GBBO friends.
Mary, 81, has signed up to front her own new show on the BBC. Mel will present Gary Barlow’s new talent show – Let It Shine. No news from Sue yet – but watch this space!
