We couldn’t be more excited for The Great British Bake Off to return to our screens on Wednesday 24th August. Even more so because after chatting to Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood for a special interview in this week’s new issue of Woman’s Own, it seems that it’s going to be the best season of ‘Bake Off’ yet!

Now that the cheeky phrase ‘soggy bottom’ has become the UK’s favourite baking-related double entendre thanks to Mary Berry, we asked Mary and Paul if we can expect many more to come in the new series. “The first challenge we did was Madeira cake and the first thing out of Mary’s mouth was ‘nice crack’ and that set the tone. Start as you mean to go on!” Paul revealed. Despite Mary’s insistence that she tries to keep everyone focused, “I’m trying to keep them all level” Paul confessed that, “Mary knows what she’s doing!”
