The Duchess of Cambridge is already rumoured to have given her seal of approval to Prince Harry’s new girlfriend Meghan Markle.
But a new picture has emerged that could prove the two may have bonded before Harry and her became and item. Back in 2014 Kate wore a floor length Diana Von Furstenberg (DVF) LBD gown to the Royal Variety Performance.
Ever the epitome of elegance, the Duchess completed her look with a stylish up do’ and hopped gem encrusted earrings. Coincidentally – or perhaps not – the 35-year-old was spotted wearing a shorter version of the dress back in February 2012.
Could it be that Kate was taking style pointers from the Suits actress? While we may never know the answer to that, what we do know is that each woman felt completely different about their ensemble. While the Duchess appeared to pull of her DVF number with apparent ease, Meghan had doubts about her dress.
Speaking to Glamour she said:
“I was going to this event and there was this DVF lace dress with a zipper up the back, and it was so fitted, and had tea-length sleeves… I bought one in navy and black.
“It was too tight, and too short, and my hair was too polished, and everything about it was trying too hard.”
