Note: this is NOT the royal baby!

That’s the choice of the British public*.  Most of us Brits (well, over 50%) believe it will be a girl, and the majority of both men and women believe Alexandra would be the best name for her, with Diana a strong second contender.  More traditional royal female names – Mary and Elizabeth – were the least popular.

If it’s a boy, however, Frances takes the lead, with a quarter of the people surveyed voting for that name. In second place, both John and Philip (who will be, after all, the baby’s great grandfather) tied equally.

The WO office are excited about the new mini-monarch whatever the gender or name!
