GBBO fans across the country are still reeling from the news that the hit baking show is making a controversial move to Channel 4.
But now news has come through that is bound to warm the cockles of any baker’s heart.
Yes you read the headline right. The Great British Bake Off is back – and just in time to add a little extra sparkle to the festive season.
Mary, Mel, Sue AND Paul will be reuniting for a two-part Christmas special. And many former GBBO contestants will be making a comeback to try their hand at unpronounceable pastries, deletable doughs, festive favourites and much more.
The BBC’s teaser for the episode says:
“It is time for some of The Great British Bake Off’s memorable past contestants to dig out their pinnies and re-enter the famous tent armed with their best festive recipes.
“As The Great Christmas Bake Off makes mouths water with its final ever episodes on the BBC.”
Rumoured to be winging their way back to the famed Bake Off tent is Cathryn Dresser, who placed fifth in Series 3. This is in addition to Howard Middleton from Series 4.
While a show date hasn’t been confirmed, we’re already on the countdown!
