Denise Lewis at the Breast Cancer Care showThe celebs were out in force for the fashion event of the year on Wednesday – The Breast Cancer Care Show at  London’s Grosvenor Hotel – and Woman’s Own was there.

Spice Girl Geri Halliwell opened the spectacular night performing Wannabe acoustically as she took to the stage, watched by the stars, including Barbara Windsor, Holby City’s Amanda Mealing and singer Alexandra Burke.

But the real stars of the show were the models – 22 women and two men who had each battled breast cancer. They had the crowd on their feet as they confidently strutted their stuff on the catwalk.

And there were tears when one mum Andrea Hull, 44, bravely spoke about how she has coped with losing her breast and her hair. Afterwards, Andrea received a hug from Olympian Denise Lewis, a Breast Cancer Care ambassador (pictured above with Woman’s Own’s Alex Lloyd).

It was the perfect start to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which we are supporting over the coming weeks.
