Rumours have been circulating that Meghan has met the family. These were all but confirmed when pictures of her slipping in through the side gate of Kensington Palace were released.

Although it’s been reported that Meghan has been hanging out with Kate, stories also speculated that Prince William was unsure about his brother’s new relationship.

These rumours went into overdrive after Harry released his official statement confirming his relationship to the press and public.

So, does Prince William support his brother’s decision? The answer, it seems, is yes. Despite the Daily Mail reporting that Prince William thought Harry had, “made a mistake” and “was wrong to make his feelings so public”, a new statement has surfaced claiming the Prince William fully endorses his brother’s actions.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Prince William and his brother had a ‘heart-to-heart’. They talked about the tense and difficult situation Prince Harry had found himself in as the news of his relationship became public.

Prince William has always been wary of the media. As a result, he was initially reluctant to make a habit or confirming personal relationships within the royal family with the public. However, he also fully supported his brother’s wish to put a stop to the harassment of his new girlfriend.

Following this conversation, Kensington Palace then issued a statement at the Duke’s specific request in support of Harry.

It said: “The Duke of Cambridge absolutely understands the situation concerning privacy and supports the need for Prince Harry to support those closest to him.”

“They don’t issue statements like that without talking to each other,” a royal source told The Telegraph.

“They talked about the Meghan Markle statement extensively in advance of it being put out.”

“No-one wanted to have to put that statement out, including Prince Harry, and there was concern about confirming the relationship.”

“But over the course of one weekend things escalated to the extent that Prince Harry felt he had to act.”
