Hoorah – finally a glamorous style to suit short hair. Guy Cammarano, creative director at Regis Salons, shares his tips and tricks on how to achieve this Gatsby-inspired ‘do at home.
Step 1. To start, apply a quality mousse to damp hair and blow dry. This will help hold the style in place.
Step 2. Next, section-off the front of your hair from the crown (about two inches) and create a side parting. Pull the rest of your hair back to keep it out of the way.
Step 3. Using a curling wand, which will create a tight curl with strong roots and softer ends, curl the front section – you can do both sides of the parting or just one. Then, use butterfly wave clamps to secure each bend of the curve onto the head – they should make alternating ‘C’ shapes.
Step 4. When the curl is in clipped in place, spray on plenty of hair spray like Regis Designline Freeze It Finishing Spray, which will provide a strong hold as well as giving a sexy shimmer to the hair. Leave the hair to set in this position for around 10 to 15 minutes before removing the butterfly clips to reveal the finished result.
Step 5. Finally complete the look with gorgeous hair accessories like a flapper girl headband or cute decorative clip.
