We told you recently about Marks & Spencer ditching the celeb models for real women, and now they have taken another great step and hired four-year-old Seb White, who has Down’s Syndrome, for their new ad campaign.
Seb has previously appeared in campaigns for JoJo Maman Bebe, but his mum Caroline, 39, contacted M&S to urge them to consider using children with disabilities in their adverts.
‘When Seb was born, I vividly remember seeing lots of ads with hundreds of beautifully perfect kids in them, and it just added to my sense of isolation and difference,’ says Caroline.
‘My heartfelt plight is to get my little boy “out there” and get the message across that different isn’t any less wonderful – or even that different.’
A week later, Seb was invited to a photoshoot for M&S, and will appear in their Christmas campaign.
