Before Circuit Training

Hi Everyone

It’s weigh-in No 2 and the start of week 3 of my diet  and I’m happy to say, dah-dah, (drum roll please) that I’ve lost another 2lb – woo hoo! So that’s 6lb in 2 weeks – I’m a very happy bunny!!

I had a fairly good week which started with a trip to my local sports centre and a circuit training class. My daughter goes every week and convinced me I would love it – and guess what? I did!

It was a huge class of around 80 people of all ages, fitness levels, shapes and sizes. From the overweight middle-aged men who probably light up a cigarette the minute they walk out of the gym (on the way to get a curry), to the girl in front of us who was young, fit and trim but had her La Senza thong on show the whole time! How we managed not to ping it I don’t know!

Our instructor, Tony (ex-army – aren’t they always?), split us into smaller groups of around 15 and put us through our paces –  60 minutes of squats, lunges, star-jumps, burpees (I’d never heard of them), spotty dogs (another new one on me), sprinting oh and a few reps of weights thrown it for good measure. But Charlotte was right – I really did enjoy it – it was friendly, fun, fast and I felt great. And I earn’t myself a whopping extra 600 calories too! See you next week Tony!
