Sprouts – no Christmas dinner is complete without them, but they’re not often the most-loved food on the plate. Until now! Adding bacon to them gives them a lovely smoky taste and walnuts add a lovely crunch too.

 

YOU WILL NEED

750g Brussels sprouts , trimmed

70g bacon strips

Butter

25g/1oz walnut halves, roughly chopped

 

Serves: 6

Cooking time: 5 mins

Prep time: 10 mins

 

HOW TO MAKE THEM:

1. Put the sprouts and bacon strips in a baking tray, drizzle with oil and roast until tender but still bright green, about 15 minutes.

2. In a frying pan, add a small knob of butter and the walnuts and stir for a couple of minutes. Toss with the sprouts and serve.
