The Christmas adverts launched this weekend and it can mean only one thing – the festive season is well and truly on its way! Here at Woman’s Own we’ve been struggling to decide which is our favourite. Here are our main contenders:
1. Marks & Spencer – Watch here
We absolutely love Marks & Spencer’s fairytale-inspired advert! It sees model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley fall down the rabbit hole into a Christmas wonderland full of weird and wonderful characters, including fellow model David Gandy. Helena Bonham Carter also makes an appearance as the Wizard of Oz.
2. John Lewis – Watch here
Following the success of their romantic snowman advert last Christmas, John Lewis have launched another tearjerker for us with the festive tale of the bear and the hare. Will Lily Allen’s cover of Keane’s ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ for the soundtrack become a Christmas hit?
3. Tesco – Watch here
This cute advert melted our hearts! The Tesco advert follows one family enjoying Christmas together over the years on home video-style film. We love how it shows the ups and downs of families at Christmas time making it a relatable, feel-good advert!
4. Coca-Cola – Watch here
The holidays are coming and it doesn’t feel like Christmas until we see the Coca-Cola truck! This year’s advert sees people slipping and sliding around the streets and their homes as Santa shakes his snow globe. Oh, and plenty of coca-cola!
5. Debenhams – Watch here
Centred on a gorgeous ballerina in a music box, Debenhams’ glamorous ad showcases Christmas gift ideas for all of the family. The soundtrack ‘Youth’ by upcoming solo artist Foxes is sure to climb the charts this Christmas.
6. ASDA – Watch here
ASDA opted for cheap and cheerful this year with a budget Christmas ad to make sure prices stay low for customers in store. It features four snowmen as rivals. We love the idea, but is it missing some Christmas sparkle?
7. Littlewoods – Watch here
Littlewoods transport you to Santa’s workshop as Myleene Klass and Mark Wright lend a helping hand, picking Christmas gifts for all of the family. It’s disappointingly a little shorter than the other ads – we would have happily spent a few more minutes looking at Mr. Wright!
All things considered, (including Mr. Wright looking adorable in a Christmas jumper) in the end it had to be M&S that claimed the top spot at WO HQ.
Which is your favourite festive advert?
