Having pushed herself to the max on Strictly Come Dancing, Denise Van Outen plans to push the pedals on a charity cycle ride in 2013.
It’s not the first time the TV and stage star, 38, has challenged herself on two wheels. In 2011 Essex girl Denise cycled almost 300 miles around the state of Rajasthan in India with Lydia Bright from reality show The Only Way Is Essex to raise money for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in London.
‘It was an amazing cycle trip and one of the best things I’ve ever done,’ says Denise. ‘I’m now busy planning my next trip – it’s great being able to do something positive for the children.’
She adds with a smile, ‘Cycling’s a good laugh too, it makes me feel like a kid again!’
Meanwhile. Denise’s husband Lee Mead has revealed that he’ll miss the final! Lee will be starring in Jack and The Beanstalk in Southampton next weekend. ‘Actually our first show is on the final of Strictly, so if she makes the final, I’m going to miss it which is really sad,’ he says. ‘But I’ll get in a car straight to London immediately afterwards!’
