They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so what if the photo in question is a picture of words declaring love and devotion being slowly erased?

Well, if the most recent photos of Victoria Beckham are anything to go by, then a picture can spark a lot more than a thousand words, as well as divorce rumours and relationship speculation!

Fashion designer and mum-of-four Victoria Beckham has been in New York this week. Whilst there, the fashion maven attended a Breast Cancer Research Foundation event and posed on the ‘pink carpet’ in a stylish black jumpsuit.

While Victoria’s chic look drew many a compliment from her fellow fashionistas, it was the absence of one particular signature design that really got people talking.

The 43-year-old’s backless jumpsuit revealed the star’s almost completely faded neck and back tattoo. The former Spice-girl originally got the ink as a permanent symbol of her love and devotion to her husband, David. The almost complete absence of the tattoo now has sparked speculation that the Beckham’s marriage is on the rocks, and Victoria’s removal of the tattoo a sign that divorce could be on the cards for the pair.

Victoria Beckham tattoo meaning

Around 2005, both Victoria and David Beckham got matching tattoos to mark their sixth wedding anniversary. Celebrating their love and proving their dedication to one another, the celebrity power couple had the same Hebrew phrase inked on to their skin.

Victoria’s famous tattoo ran vertically from her neck down her spine on to her back. David has the matching phrase inked on his arm.

The tattoos reportedly read Ani l’dodi li va’ani lo haro’eh bashoshanim in Herbrew. This translates to I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine

Beauty experts claim that the continually fading appearance of Victoria’s tattoo is due to laser removal treatments. Lasers are the safest way to remove tattoos, but treatments can take up to a year or two as you have to wait at least 6 weeks between laser tattoo removal treatments.

Many think this explains why Victoria’s statement ink has been slowly fading over the course of her red carpet appearance over the last few years.

Despite the divorce speculation surrounding the disappearance of Victoria’s devotion tattoo, the couple seem stronger than ever to us. Just two weeks ago, Victoria posted the this sweet snap of her hubby on his birthday:

Happy birthday @davidbeckham we all love u so much x #specialday! X VB 🎂

While the rumours of rocky romance continue, others believe that Victoria’s tattoo removal is just another style transformation for the star. The minimalist designer is likely just cleaning up her look. After all, she did transform from a mini-skirt wearing Spice Girl into a high-fashion superstar!
