And he's definitely qualified for the job!

Just when we thought the Strictly line up couldn’t get any more exciting, we have news hot off the press that a fifth judge will be joining the hit show.

But this time the judge in question will actually be taking to the dancefloor. ITV’s Judge Rinder has been announced as one of the latest additions to Strictly, and he took to Twitter to reveal his excitement about joining the prime-time show.

Criminal Barrister Robert Rinder – whose daytime show Judge Rinder attracts scores of viewers each day – was revealed as the 12th contestant strutting their stuff on Strictly.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills, Rinder revealed that his upcoming turn on the show is all in aid of making his grandmother proud. Aww.

“The only thing I knew would make my grandmother more proud than watching my TV courtroom was to see me dressed up in white tie doing the foxtrot.

“So although I suspect the latter will be far more difficult. I am doing Strictly Come Dancing for her,” he said.

The remaining Strictly contestants are as follows:

  • TV presenters Laura Whitmore, Naga Munchett and Ore Oduba
  • Former shadow chancellor Ed Balls
  • Singers Anastacia, Louise Redknapp and Will Young
  • Model Daisy Lowe
  • Former Hollyoaks actors Danny Mac
  • Actresses Lesley Ash and Tameka Empson
  • Kiss FM DJ Melvin Odoom
  • Olympians Claudia Fragapane and Greg Rutherford

Has a replacement for Len already been decided?

And when it comes to the judging panel, Rinder isn’t the only surprise news for 2016. Seasoned Strictly judge Len Goodman revealed that the upcoming season of the show will be his last. Since the announcement last month the rumour mill has gone into overdrive. And some sources are suggesting that professional dancers Anton du Beke and Brendan Cole are both in the running as replacements for the fourth judging seat.
